The gift nobody
forgets
Anyone can buy a box of chocolates. Or a gift voucher. Or something from a list. You can give them their own face — drawn by hand, by a French artist, in Indian ink and watercolour. On a mug. On a canvas. On their socks. That’s a story they’ll be telling for years.
Everything in the atelier
All gifts start with a hand-drawn caricature. Then I put it on whatever you want ✨
I’ve been drawing by hand in my Bordeaux studio for years. Every order is its own little adventure — Indian ink and watercolour, no artificial intelligence. Your photo becomes an original work of art, funny and tender at the same time. You can find out more about the artist here.

Why these gifts look like nothing you’ll find anywhere else
You’re looking for a funny, original gift idea for a birthday, a leaving do, a retirement or a milestone celebration — and you already know the answer isn’t yet another mass-printed object. Here, the object is only the canvas: the real gift is the drawing. A one-of-a-kind portrait, drawn by hand from your photo, with that mix of humour and warmth that only caricature can offer.
I’m a French caricature and portrait artist, based in Bordeaux. Every order starts on my drawing table: Indian ink, watercolour, textured paper. No template, no automatic generation, no software retouching — a funny family portrait, a couple sketched with a wink or your cat immortalised in all its majesty, drawn the way things were drawn before everything became automatic. The original artwork is then scanned in very high definition to be printed on the object of your choice.
“A mug, a canvas or a cushion — you can find those anywhere.
A pen stroke that looks like you? You can’t.”
That’s what sets these personalised objects apart from the big online printing platforms: you’re not buying a print, you’re commissioning a work from an artist — and you walk away with an everyday object that tells a real story. The kind of gift that never ends up at the back of a cupboard.

They’ve received their gift
Mugs, glasses, gifts of all kinds: what customers say once the object is in their hands. Out of more than 100 reviews, all five stars.
The reviews below were written in French by customers of the original French shop and have been translated into English.
“Brilliant, so lifelike. It goes through the dishwasher with no problem at all. Thank you so much, Picasso!”
“Thank you once again for your work. My friend was delighted, and so was I. This mug truly is a work of art.”
“We ordered personalised mugs for the whole company. Great follow-up and careful shipping. Everyone loved the personal touches, thanks again!”
“An artist bursting with talent, a funny and beautifully done mug.”
What they say about the drawing itself
The object changes, the drawing stays the same. These reviews are about caricatures commissioned from a photo: it’s exactly this drawing, made by hand then scanned in high definition, that gets printed on the objects on this page. (Translated from French.)
“With enormous talent and efficiency, Sébastien produced a beautifully crafted portrait of our little family — blending humour and tenderness with all his creativity in this superb piece. Thank you.”
“This morning I received the caricature of the 5 musicians in our band — completely satisfied with the work. Sébastien Rieu even gave me ideas to refine our characters further, at a fair price compared with the other quotes I’d received.”
“A drawing that really matches what I asked for. You can approve the draft before the final drawing. I recommend.”

FAQ
Can I order as a surprise gift?
Absolutely. Most orders are surprise gifts. You just need a photo of the recipient — a screenshot from their Facebook, Instagram, or a birthday snap works perfectly. I ship directly to you (or directly to them, if you’d prefer). I won’t spoil the surprise.
How long does it take?
Allow an estimated 7–12 days from order to mainland UK delivery for a printed gift, including drawing and printing. After ordering, you approve the sketch before printing. Delivery is included. Need it faster? Choose the caricature by email: an HD scan delivered within 24 hours.
What if they don’t like the caricature?
Every order includes a sketch approval stage — you see the drawing before anything is printed, and can request changes. In 25 years of drawing faces, Sébastien’s satisfaction rate speaks for itself: 5/5 from over 100 reviews. But if something is genuinely wrong, I’ll make it right.
Can I put a pet on a mug / socks / canvas?
Yes — dogs, cats, horses, and the occasional guinea pig. Pets are drawn with exactly the same care and expressiveness as humans. Sometimes more, because they don’t ask for a second opinion on the sketch.
