Choose your style and what you receive
The difference is the style and the finished format. A caricature captures character with playful exaggeration; a realistic portrait captures a faithful likeness in an original painting. Both begin on real paper.
The funny one
Funny pet caricatures
Big eyes, big grin, drawn with a real pen. Your dog as an admiral, a golfer, or the captain of a boat he clearly cannot sail. This is the picture that ends up on the fridge and stays there for ten years.
£25 for one pet · £40 for two subjects. Your hand-drawn caricature is scanned in high resolution and sent by email. A pet counts as one subject, just like a person. These prices cover the emailed scan; printed gifts have their own prices below.

The serious one
Realistic original pet portraits
Ink line, watercolour wash, cotton paper, signed in the corner. No costume, no joke. You receive the actual painting, not a print of it — the one that hangs in the hall and stops visitors on their way past.
Original watercolour pet portrait — GBP quote on request. Send your photos and tell me the size you have in mind. I confirm the total price and delivery arrangements from France before payment.
Complimentary HD creation video included with every original artwork shipped from France. Watch an example.
Ask for a watercolour quoteA larger or more elaborate original painting? Tell me about your idea. The format, technique, price in pounds and delivery time are agreed in your quote.
Discuss an original pet paintingYou approve the sketch before I paint
Choose your caricature or printed gift, upload your photos and add your instructions before payment. After payment, I send a pencil sketch for your approval. Tell me what to adjust; I begin the final ink and colour once you approve it. For a realistic original, contact me first: we agree the price in pounds and delivery arrangements before payment, and the sketch follows your paid order.

When he is gone
Memorial portraits
A favourite expression, a familiar resting place, the small details you never want to forget. A realistic memorial portrait is a quiet way to keep your companion close.
I paint memorial portraits in watercolour from the photographs you choose. We discuss the sketch after your order and before I begin the finished painting. Each realistic memorial original is quoted in pounds, with the size, delivery arrangements and timescale agreed before payment. Tell me if there is a date that matters to you.
The high-resolution scan comes with the signed original, so you can arrange prints for family members in the UK.

You and him, in the same picture
Two faces in one drawing, him front and centre where he belongs. It is the Christmas card people actually keep, and the one nobody else on the street will have.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between a caricature and a realistic portrait?
A caricature captures your pet with playful exaggeration and a lively, comic-style drawing: £25 for one subject or £40 for two, delivered as a high-resolution scan by email. A realistic portrait is a faithful likeness painted as a signed original, quoted individually in pounds. Both styles are made by hand; watercolour is a technique used in either style.
Which animals do you draw?
Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and birds are all welcome. I draw from your photographs and take the same care with a pet’s expression and character as with the people I have been drawing for 25 years.
What photographs should I send?
Choose clear photographs taken at your pet’s eye level, with the eyes visible and good daylight. Two or three views are helpful. For an older or less clear photograph, contact me first so I can tell you whether it is suitable.
Do I upload my photos before payment?
Yes. For an emailed caricature or printed gift, choose your product, upload your photos and add your instructions before payment. After payment, I send the pencil sketch for your approval. For a realistic original, contact me first to discuss your photos and receive a quote in pounds.
Can you draw me with my pet, or two pets together?
Yes. An owner and pet count as two subjects, as do two animals. A two-subject caricature costs £40 for the high-resolution scan by email. Printed gifts have their own prices and subject options. A realistic original with several subjects is quoted individually.
Can I add a background?
A colour background is optional on eligible printed caricature gifts, at £22 per item. Choose it in the order form and describe the setting before payment. Complex scenes need a separate quote. For a background on an emailed caricature or an original painting, contact me before ordering.
Do you use AI to make the artwork?
No. I draw and paint by hand with pen, brush, watercolour and paper. The finished work is scanned for email delivery or printing. The cat film shows a realistic painting taking shape. Original artworks shipped from France include a complimentary HD creation video.
What do the printed gift prices include?
The advertised base price covers a hand-drawn caricature with the stated number of subjects, the printed item and UK delivery. You do not need to buy an emailed caricature first. The optional background and any additional subject choices are shown before payment. Printed gifts are separate from the realistic original painting collection.
How long does delivery take in the UK?
The estimated timeframe is one day for an emailed caricature and 7–12 days for a printed gift. Sketch approval is part of the process. For an original painting shipped from France, the timescale and delivery arrangements are confirmed with your quote. Please discuss a fixed deadline before ordering.
Can I request changes to the sketch?
Yes. After payment, I send a pencil sketch and you can tell me which details to adjust. I begin the final drawing or painting once you approve it.
Can I commission a memorial portrait?
Yes. A realistic watercolour can preserve a familiar expression or a favourite pose. Send the photographs you would like me to work from, and we can discuss the format, your wishes and an individual quote in pounds.
