🏆 RETIREMENT GIFT

A CAREERWORTH
REMEMBERING

Price excludes background. Add a full-colour background for £22.

Someone’s closing a chapter that lasted decades. The retirement gift should match the scale of the moment — not be forgotten by the following Monday. A hand-drawn caricature portrait does that.

  • ✏️ Hand-drawn by Sébastien Rieu, professional caricaturist
  • ✅ Sketch approval — you see it before the big reveal
  • 📮 Printed gifts include mainland UK delivery
  • 🏆 Perfect for framing — wall-worthy from day one

30, 35, 40 years of service. A generic leaving card and a bottle of bubbly doesn’t quite cover it. A caricature portrait — hand-drawn, personalised, permanently theirs — says it properly.

A CAREER IN INK — THE ONLY RETIREMENT GIFT WORTH FRAMING

Caricature portraits have been used to mark great careers for over 200 years. Politicians, generals, business leaders — their faces captured in ink at the moment they stepped down. Now it’s their turn.

HOW IT WORKS

1 Send a photo A recent clear photo of the retiree. Candid or posed — both work. The more recent the better for a good likeness.
2 Tell the story Their job, their signature habits, the prop that defines them — the details that make it unmistakably about them and their career.
3 Sketch approval After payment, you receive the pencil sketch before the final is drawn. Approve or request adjustments — this is included in every order.
4 Delivered Choose an HD scan by email within 24 hours, or a separately priced printed gift delivered in an estimated 7–12 days.

RETIREMENT PORTRAIT IDEAS

Tell Sébastien what made this career — and he’ll draw the moment that sums it all up.

💼 The Boss Portrait Behind a big desk, awards on the wall, coffee in hand. The classic executive retirement caricature — with all the character a formal photo misses.
🏥 The Professional Doctor, teacher, nurse, engineer, lawyer — in their element, doing what they did for decades. Recognisable to everyone who ever worked with them.
⛳ The Post-Work Plan Golf course, garden, fishing rod, caravan. What they always said they’d do when they finally had the time — drawn as if they’ve already started.
🏆 The Career Trophy Years of service, biggest achievements — drawn as a “winner” portrait. Holding their career’s greatest moment. Works brilliantly for long-service milestones.
👥 The Team Farewell The retiree surrounded by colleagues, all recognisably caricatured. The ultimate group leaving portrait — from 2 to 6 people.
🎊 Pure Celebration Balloons, a banner, the date and their name — just the sheer joy of finally being done. Festive, funny, entirely them.

WHY THIS GIFT WORKS FOR RETIREMENT

Retirement gifts occupy a different category to other occasions. This isn’t a birthday — it’s a life transition. The gift has to match that weight. Generic gifts feel thin. A hand-drawn portrait, commissioned specifically for this person and this career, says: we took this seriously.

Caricature portraits have always been associated with status and achievement. Daumier drew politicians. Gillray drew kings. The tradition of capturing someone important at a key moment in ink goes back 300 years. A retirement portrait sits squarely in that tradition — accessible, personal, and permanently meaningful.

People hang these on walls. In home offices, in hallways, in living rooms. In five years’ time, the chocolates are forgotten and the wine is long gone. The portrait is still there.

🏛️ A tradition going back centuries Retirement portrait caricatures have been given to politicians, generals and directors since the 18th century. This is that tradition, made accessible.
🖼️ Wall-worthy from day one Drawn on A4, suitable for immediate framing. Many recipients put them straight up in the home office or hallway.
💰 Easy to organise for a team Whip-round among colleagues. 10 people at £5–10 each comfortably covers a portrait with scene. One person organises, everyone contributes.
✅ No risk with sketch approval You see the drawing before it’s finalised. No surprises on the day — just a great reveal.
